During his studies at Bristol University Mark composed for electronics and synthesizers, and went on to postgraduates studies in Music Information Technology at City University, London. He now works extensively with music technology in his choral activities.

Mark runs a mobile recording facility specialising in choral music, and has produced and of both live concerts and sessions

He is equally at home with “studio” music production, regularly producing audio tracks for use in rehearsals and performances, mixing multi-track audio projects, and providing live sound productions for a number of concerts.

Mark also has extensive experience working as a software consultant, and is a veteran of numerous IT projects of all sizes. In 2017 he was appointed as a trustee of the Association of British Choral Directors, with a particular responsibility for digital and IT projects. During the Covid-19 pandemic he has been instrumental in establishing and managing a series of webinars and other online initiatives.
